Robotics Challenge - Workshop Required

The Williamson County STEM Project Group will be hosting a Robotics Challenge at the Williamson County Fair on August 11, 2018. To prepare for the challenge, the STEM Project Group is offering a four day workshop on July 16 – July 19 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park.

The workshop will guide the participants in preparing for the Robotics Challenge. It will cover the basics of building a robot, programming a robot and maneuvering the challenge course at the fair.

We ask that participants that have a Lego robotics kit (NXT or EV3), bring their own kit and laptop or iPad loaded with the Lego Robotics programming software to use. However, the STEM Project Group has a very limited number of robotics kits available for use in this challenge. They will be assigned on a first come first served basis to existing Williamson County 4-H members.

All participants who attend the workshop are expected to participate in the Robotics Challenge at the fair on August 11, 2018. Competition setup will begin at 3:00 pm and the contest will begin at 5:00 pm. The workshop is open to any youth in grades 6 through 12. Grade level will be determined by the youth’s grade level as of January 1, 2018.

The cost for the workshop is free. Please contact the Williamson County 4-H office at (615) 790-5721 or roberson4652@gmail.com to reserve a spot in the workshop.
