Volunteer Group Opportunities
Have a group or organization that would like to volunteer together?  We would love to have your team be part of ours!!!!  Please contact Rex Thigpen at 794-4FUN to discuss group opportunities!

Volunteer Areas
Below is a list of various Fair committees and ways you can volunteer...

* Little Ones Farming – This fabulous exhibit is the talk of the Fair!  Assist children as they experience the life of a farmer. Help them plant seeds, harvest crops, milk cows, gather eggs and sell their goods at the market!  It takes over 300 people to staff this exhibit through the fair. Contact Cherry Jackson at 794-6978 or Robbie Dawson at 794-3741 for more information or e-mail  littleonesfarming@charter.net.

Information Booth – Located just inside the fair entrances, these booths are our fairgoers' first stops to find out more about the fair!  Volunteers are needed to answer questions, to help direct people to different locations and to hand out Daily Fair Schedules.  Contact Faye Carwile for more information – 794.1225.

Cultural Arts Pavilion – Many volunteers are needed to staff this air conditioned tent full of art, photography, music, and other fun!  This tent houses the fine art and photography entries as well as the popular community art & photography projects in which all fair goers contribute to a lasting piece of artwork that is later displayed around the county!  Contact Joyce Itin for more information - 794.4583.

Volunteer Hospitality Lounge – This lounge gives our hardworking volunteers a nice place to put their feet up for a few minutes and have a cool drink and refreshment. Volunteers are needed to stock drinks and snacks and keep the lounge in order. Contact Rhonda Wallace for more information at  wallace1615@comcast.net – 615.791.7192.

Creative Arts, Culinary Arts and Floriculture
- Do you enjoy quilting, stained glass, woodworking, crochet and knitting, sewing for children, adults and the home.  Or do you have an interest in the areas of plants and floral arrangements, or of food from baked goods, canning and candy.  These are the kinds of competitions you will find if you volunteer in the Creative and Culinary Arts and Floriculture area at the fair.  We need volunteers from 5:00-9:00pm on weekdays, 9:00am-9:00pm on Saturdays and 11:00am-9:00pm on Sunday.  All shifts are two hours in length.  To sign up for a specific date/time, contact Kathy Kuryla at kuryla@comcast.net or if you don’t have email, leave a message at 615/791-8399.  She will get back to you to confirm your request.

Ticket Booths
– Come join the front lines and sell our patrons their ticket to fun! Don't sweat it - the ticket booths are air conditioned!  Hours will be in the afternoons and evenings during the weekdays, and all day Saturday and starting at 11:00 am on Sunday. Contact Brenda Hyden for more information at bhyden@aol.com –  790.5814.

Front Porch Floaters
– Do you enjoy the element of surprise? Join the Floaters team and get a different assignment every time! Our Floaters help out where ever they are needed and cover unexpected short staffing situations. Time slots are scheduled, and you find out your assignment upon arrival. Contact Art Ankrum for more information – 591.3661.

Still Not Certain? – Just complete this volunteer form, and we’ll add you to our database and contact you about opportunities that arise. For general information, call our Fair information line - 794.4FUN.
