- Dept. 700, Section 400 – Sing Your Heart Out (pg. 95) Delete rule #14. Winners will not proceed to the 2012 Atlanta auditions of America’s Got Talent, and will not be given spending money for the trip. This was printed in error.
- Dept. 300, Section 102 – Cakes (pg.34) Date should be Friday, Aug. 5th.
- Dept. 400, Sections 151-153 – Photography (pg. 42) Photos and entry forms with payment may also be dropped off at the Fairview Community Center on Fairview Blvd.
- Dept. 400, Section 100 – Juried Art Show (pg. 39) Entry: Wednesday, August 3 (delete – for selected entries). Deliver entries to the Arts area located on the Arena floor between 4:00-6:00 pm. (There is no pre-selection process)
General Announcements:
- Sing Your Heart Out – The Sing Your Heart Out preliminary contests will be held in Building 9 at The Factory in Franklin, August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at 6:00 pm.
- Original Design Fashion Show – The Original Design Fashion Show will be held Thursday, August 4th, at 6:30 pm on the Main Stage. Registration will be from 4:30-6:00 pm. Contestants should carry their entry in, and not wear it until the Fashion Show because winning entries will be displayed during the fair.
- Creative Arts – The Soldiers Quilt Project will be ongoing in the Creative Arts Room during the Fair. Quilters will be working on quilts that will be given to wounded soldiers. Fairgoers will learn quilting techniques, and can participate in this project. Donations will be accepted for fabric and postage costs.
- Creative Arts – Guess What This Item is Used For? An interactive exhibit in the Creative Arts Room featuring unique tools and utensils used for cooking, sewing, quilting, handicrafts and floriculture.
- Elementary School Creative Poster Contest in cooperation with Tractor Supply Company – The winners are: 1st Place – Kailie, 5th grade, Grassland. 2nd Place – Macy, Pearre Creek; Christian, 4th grade, Pearre Creek; Kathleen, 4th grade, Kenrose; and Landon, 4th grade, Scales. Honorable Mention – Mary Helen, 3rd grade, Lipscomb; Emma, 4th grade, Pearre Creek; Mary, 4th grade Pearre Creek; Kain, 3rd grade, Pearre Creek; Jasmine, 5th grade, Pearre Creek; Sophie, 5th grade, Edmondson; Kelly, 3rd grade, Pearre Creek; Lexi, 3rd grade, Pearre Creek; Mims, 3rd grade, Pearre Creek; and Gavin, 3rd grade, Pearre Creek.
Want to join us, but don’t know how to beat the heat?
In addition to the air conditioned building packed full of vendor booths, food and free entertainment, this year’s fairgrounds will feature “misting fans” located throughout the midway. You can get a quick, cool “mist” between rides, outdoor shows and as you stroll the midways!
Don’t forget to visit our concessionaires, who will be offering the following cool drinks and treats:
